The short version
- Beleeg runs leagues: sign-ups, rosters, schedules, scores, chat, and payments. We collect what that takes.
- We do not sell your information. We do not show ads. The app has no advertising or tracking software in it.
- We do not collect your location, your contacts, or an advertising ID.
- Card numbers go to Stripe. Beleeg never sees or stores them.
- lebrAIn, our AI assistant, asks your permission before it sends anything to the AI company.
- If you connect an outside AI assistant to your account, what that company does with Beleeg’s answers is covered by its policy, not ours. See section 5.
- You can delete your account at any time, in the app or on the website.
This policy covers the Beleeg website, the Beleeg app for iPhone and Android, and league websites run on Beleeg. Questions go to privacy@beleeg.com.
What we collect
- Your account: email address and name. Phone number and profile photo if you add them. If you sign in with Google or Apple, they give us your name and email.
- League details a league asks for: birth year, a rating, and an association member number, when your league requires them.
- What you do in your league: teams, availability, lineups, scores, results, and standings.
- Messages: chat messages, polls, reactions, and photos you send in chat.
- Photos and videos: team and league logos, match photos, and videos a league uploads.
- Payment records: what you paid for, how much, and when (registration, team dues, tournament entries, tickets, store orders, and a shipping address for store orders). Not your card number.
- lebrAIn: what you ask it, and photos or screen pictures you choose to send it. See section 4.
- Your phone’s notification token, so we can send you notifications.
- Your time zone, so match times show correctly.
- How the product is used: which screens and buttons are used. When you are signed in this is tied to your account. We use it to fix and improve Beleeg, not for ads.
Camera and photos. The app uses the camera only when you take a photo or scan a player pass, and your photo library only when you pick a photo.
Microphone. If you talk to lebrAIn, your phone or browser turns your voice into text. Beleeg receives the text, never the recording. Apple’s or Google’s speech service may process the audio to do this, under their own terms.
Not collected: your location, your contacts, an advertising ID, health information, or your browsing on other sites. Venue addresses are typed in by the league.
Why we use it
- To run your league: rosters, schedules, scores, standings, chat, and payments.
- To sign you in and keep your account safe.
- To send the notifications and emails your league and your settings call for.
- To answer when you ask for help.
- To see what is working and fix what is not.
Other people in your league see what the league needs them to see: your name, photo, team, scores, and chat messages. Captains and league administrators can also see contact details such as your email and phone number. A league’s public pages can show names, teams, schedules, and results.
lebrAIn and AI
lebrAIn is Beleeg’s AI assistant. The answers come from Anthropic, the company whose AI we use. Before the first time anything is sent, lebrAIn asks for your permission. Until you choose Allow, nothing is sent. You can turn it off at any time: on the website under Account, Privacy & security, or in the app under More, your name, Privacy & security. The row is called “lebrAIn and AI.”
When you ask lebrAIn something, we send Anthropic:
- What you type or say, and the recent messages in that conversation.
- Photos or screen pictures you choose to add. Anything readable in a picture is included.
- Which screen you are on, and the league details needed to answer. That can include names, teams, schedules, results, and standings, and for administrators things like who has not paid.
The same permission covers “Snap the scorecard,” which sends a photo of your scorecard to read the scores, and the organizer tool on the website that sets up a custom scoring format, which sends the description you type.
One more organizer tool on the website uses Anthropic without asking first, because it sends nothing about people: when you import a spreadsheet, we send the column headings and the kind of thing each column holds (such as “email” or “number”) to match them up. The rows themselves are never sent.
A screen picture is never taken on its own. You press the button, look at the picture, and then send it or cancel. On the website, password and card boxes are covered before the picture is taken; in the app they are not, so check the picture first. Beleeg’s servers do not keep the pictures you send to lebrAIn.
Question log. We keep up to 500 characters of each question you type, with the time, your account, and your league, for 90 days. A nightly job removes older ones. Your league’s administrators can see recent questions asked in their league, so do not treat a question as private from them. Starting a new chat clears what you see on your device; it does not remove that log, which still ages out on its own after 90 days.
lebrAIn can be wrong. Check names, dates, scores, and amounts before you submit anything it filled in.
Connecting an outside AI assistant
This is different from lebrAIn. Under Account, Connect an AI assistant, you can give an assistant made by another company — Meta Muse, Claude, and Cursor are the ones people use with Beleeg — a code that lets it use Beleeg on your behalf. Nobody can do this to your account but you.
What it can reach. A connected assistant can see and change exactly what you can see and change in Beleeg, and nothing more. So it can reach your rosters and the contact details your role lets you see, your team’s chat, schedules and results, and, if you run a league, who has not paid. When you make the connection, you choose whether it can look things up only, or also make changes. A look-up-only connection cannot change anything. Changes are made in two steps: Beleeg first returns a plain summary of what would happen and saves nothing, and the assistant is told to go ahead only after you have agreed to that summary.
The assistant is another company’s product. It is not part of Beleeg, and it is not one of the companies in section 6 that work for us. Once Beleeg answers it, that answer is in that company’s hands, and what happens to it from then on is covered by that company’s privacy policy, not this one. Read that policy before you connect.
Training. Some assistants use what they collect to improve their own AI. Whether yours does, and whether you can say no, is a setting inside the assistant. It is not something Beleeg can set or see for you.
Turning one off. Open Account, then Connect an AI assistant, then Turn off. Beleeg then stops answering that assistant. It does not reach backwards: anything the assistant already received or remembered is still with that company, and you would have to ask them to remove it. A connection also stops on its own 30 days after you make it.
Companies that help us run Beleeg
These companies handle information for us, only to provide their service to Beleeg. We do not sell your information, and we do not share it for advertising.
- Supabase: our database, file storage, and sign-in. The database is kept in the United States.
- Vercel: hosts the website, counts page visits, and measures how fast pages load.
- Stripe: takes payments and pays out leagues, captains, and referees. Your card details go straight to Stripe.
- Anthropic: lebrAIn’s answers, as described in section 4.
- Resend: sends our emails.
- Expo, Apple, and Google: deliver notifications to your phone.
- Google and Apple: sign-in, if you choose to sign in with them.
- Mux: stores and plays league videos.
- Printful: makes and ships store orders. It receives your name and shipping address for an order.
- Google Maps: works out distances between venues. It receives the venue addresses, nothing about you.
- Google Analytics: on the website only, counts visits and clicks. It receives your Beleeg account number when you are signed in, not your name or email.
We may also share information when the law requires it, or to protect people from harm or fraud. If Beleeg is ever sold or merged, your information would move to the new owner under this policy.
Cookies, analytics, and Global Privacy Control
Beleeg keeps you signed in using storage in your browser or phone. We do not use advertising cookies. The website remembers how you first found us (for example, a link you clicked) so we know which of our own efforts work.
If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track signal, we honor it: nothing is sent to Google Analytics or Vercel’s visit counter, and we do not save how you first found us.
How long we keep it
- lebrAIn question logs: 90 days.
- Everything else: for as long as your account exists, so your league keeps working.
We make a backup copy of the database every night, on a backup run by Beleeg’s founder, and keep each copy for up to 30 days. Information you delete can stay in those copies until they expire.
When you delete your account, your sign-in, name, email, phone number, photo, birth year, and member number are removed, and your name shows as “Deleted member.” Match scores, chat messages you sent, and payment records stay with the league. Our delete your account page lists exactly what is deleted and what is kept.
Deleting your account
- In the app: More, tap your name, then Delete my account.
- On the website: Account, Privacy & security, then Delete my account.
- By email: write to privacy@beleeg.com from the address on your account.
If you are the only owner of an organization or the only administrator of a league, we ask you to hand it to someone else or close it first.
Your choices and rights
Wherever you live, you can ask us to show you the information we hold about you, correct it, give you a copy, or delete it. You can change your name, email, phone number, and photo yourself in your account. You can turn notifications and emails on or off in your settings, and turn lebrAIn’s AI off as described in section 4.
United States. Some states, including California, give residents the right to know, correct, and delete their information, and to opt out of its sale or sharing for advertising. We do not sell or share your information for advertising, and we will not treat you differently for using your rights.
Europe, the United Kingdom, Colombia, and similar laws. You also have the right to object to or limit how we use your information, to withdraw a permission you gave, and to complain to your data protection authority. We use your information to provide the service you or your league signed up for, with your permission where we ask for it (such as lebrAIn), and to keep Beleeg safe and working.
To use any of these rights, write to privacy@beleeg.com from the email address on your account. If your league entered your information, we may work with the league to answer.
Children
Beleeg is made for adults who run and play in leagues. It is not meant for children under 13, and we do not knowingly let them create accounts. A parent, guardian, or league organizer may add a young player’s name to a roster; that adult is responsible for having permission to do so. If you believe a child has given us information, write to privacy@beleeg.com and we will remove it.
Leagues outside the United States
Beleeg is run from the United States, and the companies in section 6 may handle information in the United States and other countries. If you use Beleeg from another country, such as Colombia, your information is sent to and handled in those countries.
Security
Information travels over encrypted connections. The app keeps your sign-in in your phone’s secure storage. Access to league information depends on your role in that league. No system is perfectly secure.
Changes to this policy
When we change this policy we will update the date at the top. If a change is significant, we will also tell you in the app or by email.
